Story : A Thirsty Crow

Read the beginning of the story. Add at least ten new sentences to complete the story. Give a suitable title to it.

One day a crow became very thirsty. He flew from place to place in search of water. But he found no water. He continued his search for water....................

One day a crow became very thirsty. He flew from place to place in search of water. But he found no water. He continued his search for water. At last, he saw a jar. He peeped into the jar and saw that there was a little water at the bottom of the jar. He tried to drink water but his bill could not reach it. He tried again and again but in vain. He became very sad and hopeless. Suddenly, he saw some small pieces of stone near the jar. A good idea came into his head. He picked up the stones and dropped them into the jar one by one. As a result, the water came up to the brim. The crow then drinks water from it to his heart’s content and flew away with a joyful mind.

একদিন একটা কাক খুব তৃষ্ণার্ত হল। জলের সন্ধানে সে এক জায়গায় উড়ে গেল। কিন্তু সে পানি পাননি। সে পানির সন্ধান করতে থাকলেন।

একদিন একটা কাক খুব তৃষ্ণার্ত হল। জলের সন্ধানে সে এক জায়গায় উড়ে গেল। কিন্তু সে পানি পাননি। সে পানির সন্ধান করতে থাকেন। অবশেষে, সে একটি বয়াম দেখতে পেলেন। সে কলসের মধ্যে উঁকি দিয়ে দেখলেন, কলসের নীচে সামান্য জল রয়েছে। সে পানি পান করার চেষ্টা করেন কিন্তু তার বিল পৌঁছাতে পারেনি। সে বারবার চেষ্টা করলেন কিন্তু বৃথা। সে খুব দুঃখিত এবং আশাহীন হয়ে উঠলেন। হঠাত্‍ সে পাত্রের কাছে কয়েকটি পাথরের টুকরো দেখতে পান। তার মাথায় একটা ভালো বুদ্ধি এলো। সে পাথরগুলো তুলে এক এক করে পাত্রে ফেলে দিল। ফলে কানায় কানায় পানি চলে এসেছে। তারপর কাক তার হৃদয়ের তৃপ্তির জন্য এটি থেকে জল পান করে এবং আনন্দিত মন নিয়ে উড়ে গেল।

Hazi Mohammad Mohsin was a kind man. He helped people in many ways. He was famous for his kindness. One night he was sleeping in his room. He heard a sound and woke up. He saw a stranger standing in one corner of the room. The man looked pale and poor. He was trembling with fear. He did not try to run away but stood still. Mohsin asked him who he was. The man replied that he was a thief. He also narrated his sorrows and sufferings. Mohsin became sympathetic and gave him some money. He told the man to come whenever he was in difficultly. He advised the man not to steal. The man was pleased enough and thanked Mohsin with all his heart. Then he went away for his home. He promised that he would never steal. He was grateful to Hazi Mohammad Mohsin for his help and generosity.

হাজী মোহাম্মদ মহসীন ছিলেন একজন দয়ালু মানুষ। মানুষকে নানাভাবে সাহায্য করেছেন। তিনি তার দয়ার জন্য বিখ্যাত ছিলেন। একদিন রাতে সে তার ঘরে ঘুমাচ্ছিল। একটা শব্দ শুনে ঘুম ভেঙে গেল। ঘরের এক কোণে একজন অপরিচিত ব্যক্তিকে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকতে দেখেন।

হাজী মোহাম্মদ মহসীন ছিলেন একজন দয়ালু মানুষ। মানুষকে নানাভাবে সাহায্য করেছেন। তিনি তার দয়ার জন্য বিখ্যাত ছিলেন। একদিন রাতে সে তার ঘরে ঘুমাচ্ছিল। একটা শব্দ শুনে ঘুম ভেঙে গেল। ঘরের এক কোণে একজন অপরিচিত লোককে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকতে দেখেন। লোকটিকে ফ্যাকাশে এবং দরিদ্র লাগছিল। সে ভয়ে কাঁপছিল। সে পালানোর চেষ্টা করল না কিন্তু স্থির হয়ে রইল। মহসিন তাকে জিজ্ঞেস করল সে কে? লোকটি উত্তর দিল সে চোর। তিনি তার দুঃখ-কষ্টের কথাও বলেছেন। মহসিন সহানুভূতিশীল হয়ে তাকে কিছু টাকা দেন। তিনি লোকটিকে বলেছিলেন যখনই তিনি অসুবিধায় পড়বেন। তিনি লোকটিকে চুরি না করার পরামর্শ দিলেন। লোকটি যথেষ্ট খুশি হয়ে মহসিনকে মনেপ্রাণে ধন্যবাদ জানাল। তারপর সে তার বাড়ির দিকে চলে গেল। সে প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছিল যে সে কখনো চুরি করবে না। তিনি হাজী মোহাম্মদ মহসিনের সাহায্য ও উদারতার জন্য কৃতজ্ঞ ছিলেন।
