The Importance of Learning English

The importance of English cannot be described in words. It is the language used all over the world. That means it is an international language. We need English for our higher education. All books on higher education are written in English. These books help us to acquire knowledge. Besides the knowledge of modern science and technology is available in English. Today more than 80% of all the information in the world’s computers is in English. So if we do not know English, we will not be able to keep pace with the present world. So, we should be very careful to learn English from now on. Our English textbook can help a lot in this regard. Because, it has been developed to attain competency in all four language skills, i.e. listening, speaking, reading and writing. We also cannot deny the necessity of grammar in learning English as it helps us to use the language accurately. Today organizations need employees who can speak and write a standard form of English. So it helps us to get a good job and to earn more money. Moreover, to communicate with foreign countries and to run foreign business, English is essential. From this, we can say that we need to learn English for the progress of our individual as well as our national life.

 ইংরেজি শেখার গুরুত্ব

ইংরেজির গুরুত্ব ভাষায় বর্ণনা করা যাবে না। এটি সারা বিশ্বে ব্যবহৃত ভাষা। অর্থাৎ এটি একটি আন্তর্জাতিক ভাষা। আমাদের উচ্চশিক্ষার জন্য ইংরেজি দরকার। উচ্চশিক্ষার সব বই ইংরেজিতে লেখা। এই বইগুলো আমাদের জ্ঞান অর্জনে সাহায্য করে। এছাড়া আধুনিক বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তির জ্ঞান ইংরেজিতে পাওয়া যায়। বর্তমানে বিশ্বের কম্পিউটারের 80% এরও বেশি তথ্য ইংরেজিতে রয়েছে। তাই ইংরেজি না জানলে আমরা বর্তমান বিশ্বের সঙ্গে তাল মিলিয়ে চলতে পারব না। তাই, এখন থেকে ইংরেজি শেখার ব্যাপারে আমাদের খুব সতর্ক হওয়া উচিত। আমাদের ইংরেজি পাঠ্যপুস্তক এক্ষেত্রে অনেক সাহায্য করতে পারে। কারণ, এটি চারটি ভাষার দক্ষতা অর্জনের জন্য তৈরি করা হয়েছে, অর্থাৎ শোনা, বলা, পড়া এবং লেখা। আমরা ইংরেজি শেখার ক্ষেত্রে ব্যাকরণের প্রয়োজনীয়তা অস্বীকার করতে পারি না কারণ এটি আমাদের সঠিকভাবে ভাষা ব্যবহার করতে সহায়তা করে। বর্তমানে সংস্থাগুলির এমন কর্মচারীদের প্রয়োজন যারা ইংরেজির একটি আদর্শ ফর্ম বলতে এবং লিখতে পারে। সুতরাং এটি আমাদের একটি ভাল চাকরি পেতে এবং আরও অর্থ উপার্জন করতে সহায়তা করে। তাছাড়া বিদেশের সাথে যোগাযোগ এবং বিদেশী ব্যবসা পরিচালনার জন্য ইংরেজি অপরিহার্য। এ থেকে আমরা বলতে পারি যে আমাদের ব্যক্তিজীবনের পাশাপাশি আমাদের জাতীয় জীবনের উন্নতির জন্য ইংরেজি শেখা দরকার।
