A Street Accident 

(200 words for class 8 and 9)

When a vehicle
collides with another on the street, it is called street accident. It has
become a major problem in our country. It is an unpleasant and unexpected
event. It is caused by vehicles while moving on the street recklessly. There
are many causes behind street accident in our country. The roads and streets of
our country are narrow. They are not straight. Rush driving is a major cause of
street accident. Overtaking tendency of the drivers is also responsible.
Besides defective and old vehicles increase street accident. A few days ago, I
saw a street accident. A bus driver failed the break and hit against a tree.
Some of the passengers were injured lightly. I got panicked seeing the
accident. Some measures can be taken to control street accident. Roads and
streets need to be constructed on proper plan. Modern system of traffic control
should be introduced. Defective vehicles should be removed. Driving license
should be issued honestly and duly. Moreover people in general need to obey
traffic rules. And thus, we can minimize street accident.

একটি রাস্তার দুর্ঘটনা

রাস্তায় একটি গাড়ির সাথে আরেকটি গাড়ির সংঘর্ষ
হলে তাকে সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা বলে। এটি আমাদের দেশে একটি বড় সমস্যা হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে। এটি
একটি অপ্রীতিকর এবং অপ্রত্যাশিত ঘটনা। রাস্তায় বেপরোয়াভাবে চলাচলের সময় যানবাহনের
কারণে এটি ঘটে। আমাদের দেশে সড়ক দুর্ঘটনার পেছনে অনেক কারণ রয়েছে। আমাদের দেশের রাস্তা-ঘাট
সরু। তারা সোজা নয়। তাড়াহুড়ো করে গাড়ি চালানো রাস্তা দুর্ঘটনার একটি বড় কারণ।
চালকদের ওভারটেকিং প্রবণতাও দায়ী। এছাড়া ত্রুটিপূর্ণ ও পুরনো যানবাহন সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা
বাড়ায়। কয়েকদিন আগে রাস্তায় দুর্ঘটনা দেখেছি। একটি বাস চালক ব্রেক ব্যর্থ করে একটি
গাছের সাথে ধাক্কা দেয়। এতে কয়েকজন যাত্রী হালকা আহত হয়েছেন। দুর্ঘটনা দেখে আতঙ্কিত
হয়ে পড়ি। সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা নিয়ন্ত্রণে কিছু ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া যেতে পারে। সঠিক পরিকল্পনায়
রাস্তা-ঘাট নির্মাণ করতে হবে। ট্রাফিক নিয়ন্ত্রণের আধুনিক ব্যবস্থা চালু করতে হবে।
ত্রুটিপূর্ণ যানবাহন অপসারণ করতে হবে। ড্রাইভিং লাইসেন্স সততা ও যথাযথভাবে জারি করতে
হবে। তাছাড়া সাধারণ মানুষকে ট্রাফিক নিয়ম মানতে হবে। আর এভাবেই আমরা সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা
কমিয়ে আনতে পারি।

accident is one of them. In our over populated country everyone wants to
overtake others. But roads are not spacious enough for busy transport. So, road
accident is sure to occur frequently. Moreover, overloading and careless
driving are also important factors of street accident. Everyday, we find the
news of unwanted street accident in the national dailies. Last month I saw a
tragic street accident. I was standing in front market place. Two university
students are enjoying in the rickshaw. At that time a speedy truck hit the
rickshaw from behind. The two students have been thrown in far. One of them
spot dead. Rickshaw puller and other student become serious injurious. To my
horror I saw a lump of flesh there. I became wordless and motionless. I could
not console my mind. Still today the tragic scene haunts me and pains me

আমাদের জীবনে বিভিন্ন দুর্ঘটনা সাধারণ বিষয়। সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা এগুলোর মধ্যে একটি। আমাদের জনবহুল দেশে প্রত্যেকে চায় অপরকে পিছনে ফেলে যেতে। কিন্তু বাস্ত চলাচলের জন্য আমাদের রাস্তাঘাটগুলো পর্যাপ্ত প্রশস্ত নয়। সুতরাং, ঘনঘন সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা অবশ্যম্ভাবী। অধিকন্তু, মাত্রাতিরিক্ত বোঝাই এবং অসতর্ক গাড়ি চালানো সড়ক দুর্ঘটনার অন্যতম কারণ। প্রত্যেকদিন আমরা জাতীয় দৈনিকগুলোতে অনাকাঙ্ক্ষিত সড়ক দুর্ঘটনার খবর দেখতে পাই। গতমাসে আমি একটি মর্মান্তিক সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা দেখেছিলাম। আমি মার্কেটের সামনে দাঁড়ানো ছিলাম। দুজন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্র রিকশায় মজা করছিল। ঠিক সে মুহূর্তে একটি ট্রাক পেছন থেকে আঘাত করল। দুজন ছাত্র দূরে ছিটকে পড়ল। একজন সক্রোসতো মারা গেল। রিকশা চালক ও অপর ছাত্রটি

মারাত্মক আহত হল। আমি সেখানে এক রাশ মাংসপিণ্ড দেখে হতবাক হয়ে পড়লাম। আমি নির্বাক এবং নিত হয়ে গেলাম। আমি আমার মনকে প্রবোধ দিতে পারলাম না। আজও আমাকে ঐ মর্মান্তিক দৃশ্য ভয়ানক তাড়া করে এবং পীড়া দেয় ।
